Charts & Kits to think about
I want to cut down on my stitching stash accumulation. When something catches my interest I will post it to let it marinate a long, long while.
I will try to not succumb to the evils of impulse buying. I don't *need* anymore (except maybe threads and cloth to stitch what I have).

Tis the time to evaluate life, consider objectives and directions. I don't wait for an arbitrary officially condoned calendar date to do that. For me this period starts at back to school time, that arbitrary officially condoned date set by some old school board some century ago. That has been the official start of my New Years since I was 5 years old. After 30 plus years of assorted educational goals it is too ingrained to ignore so I have embraced it. It is a process.

I almost made it out of the weekend without a new start. I knew it would be difficult when I couldn't get color possibilities out of my head since seeing the sampler in Samplers & Antique Needlework Quarterly, Fall 2009, issue 56. They published a Queenstown reproduction: 1819 Elizabeth Powell Sampler.
I couldn't wait to get home Saturday. I tried to resist for as long as I could which ended up being around 5 hours. I thought the sampler looked kind of flat. Lovely... -

Summer, what Summer? Is that what this oppressive heat and humidity is? It started Mid July...alittle late but now consistently in force.
Clearing out the WIP lists because I don't know what I will be in the mood to stitch on this month. The Martina Weber Mandalas are calling to me...but which one?
Saturday came and went. The only new start was the Fritz Leiber book. Started books take up less space than started projects though I did thread-up a new reproduction... -

I didn't have a problem with what they left out of the book. I think they handled some things better in the movie, conveying some points much more clearly than in the book.
That said, I found the movie very dark, very brooding, and feeling 2 hours longer than it was. The pace was slow and dragging. Dark murkiness with spots of not so dark somewhat funny. Not belly laughing funny but quiet chuckle funny.

Thursday I realized how close I was to finishing Mirabilia's letter B fairy. So I finished her.
After I framed her, it took me some time to choose the next fairy but I started J. I was hoping I could consider that my Saturday start one day early but that is not to be.
Just Nan's Sirens of the Sea are calling to me. I have the cloth chosen and the wonderful...Another Saturday, another start!

Saturday was a stitch day. I had all day to stitch and wallow in the Tudors from season 1, episode 1. I got all the way to season 2 and started falling asleep by s2ep2.
New Start: LaDDa's Live, Love, Laugh on mystery 40 ct cloth with HDF silks. No picture yet.

2009 Trying to focus year

January: the plan was to pick 25 projects over the course of the year and focus on them to completion. I got to 20 before I felt overwhelmed with still no satisfactory progress on old projects or much of a stop to new starts.
May: I tried again. This time picking 5 to focus on. I thought the short list would have better turnover with more work per piece. The plan was for the 5 to continue until...My Day Boosting the Economy

My purple Celebrations tote bag from last year packed with my pattern inventory book, bigger than most current community phonebooks printed in fonts as small, travel project, a book, and my checkbook - as there are some vendors who are not set up to take charge or debit, I set off in the wee traffic hours West - South - North. Celebrations of Needlework held classes yesterday to continue through Sunday. I didn't sign up for any this year. Today is my day tripping time to go up, shop and hook up with friends, some of whom I only see in person at Celebrations while emailing the rest of year.
